Feasibility
designs, cost estimates and supporting information are included. The
work was carried out under a technical services agreement between the
Colorado River Water Conservation District (River District) and
Morrison-Knudsen Engineers, Inc. (MKE) dated August 15, 1985.

The work was divided into well defined tasks, described below, to
assure an orderly development of the definition of the two projects.

Task 1 - Review of Previous Studies and Existing Data
The review included examining previous reports and studies, existing
topographic mapping, site visits, and attending introductory meetings
with regulatory agencies and other consultants.

Task 2 - Seismic Analysis
A seismotectonic (earthquake) hazard evaluation was made for the two
sites.

Task 3 - Determine Site Characteristics - Rock Creek
Preliminary layouts of various dam heights and dam types were developed
and preliminary cost estimates were made to provide the basis for
selecting the dam axis location, type and height at the Rock Creek site.

1 - 1

7062W/502OW
