Permitting
The objective is to assess the requirements for permits to complete the
proj ect.

Public agencies with permitting authority will be contacted to obtain their

concerns and probable permit requirements. It is anticipated that the following

agencies will be involved: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Land

Management, State Health Department, State Highway Department, State Division of

Wildlife, and Mesa County Engineering Department. The end product will be a

report describing probable permits and permit conditions.

Conclusions and Recommendations

The objective is to provide a summary of the results of the evaluation and

recommend a course of action for the District to follow.

Summary charts will be prepared of the alternatives considered and the

reasons to select two for detailed consideration. A summary of the construction

schedules and cost will be presented. The end product will be a recommendation

to the District to follow a selected alternative.

The study will progress according to the schedule in Appendix C. As each

chapter is completed, it will be submitted to the District and CWCB for review.

Comments will be included before submittal of the final draft. The project

schedule assumes that reviews will be completed in ten days or less. Prior to

selection of the preferred alternative for more detail study, the District and

CWCB will be appraised of the results of the investigation and participate in

final selection. Ten copies of the final report will be provided to the

District.
