,.

c-

SCOPE OF WORK

Fruitland Mesa Feasibility Study

The scope of work for the project will consist of the following
tasks:

1. Determine the amount of surface water supplies available for

storage in Gould Reservoir. This water may have its source from

several small watersheds along' the western and southern edges of

alack Mesa or useable return flows originating above the reservoir.

Also, consideration will be given to storage of the present sup-

plies of the Cattlemen's Ditch Company. An estimate will be made

of the percentage of time such supplies would be available over a

long period of time.

2. Prepare feasibility level designs of the structures requ~red to
divert, transport" and store the available water identified in 1.
above. These would include. raising of Gould Dam and North Dike,
diversion facilities for Cattlemen's Ditch, and possible enlarge-
ment of Fruitland Mesa Ditch. However, only reconnaissance level
designs for new collection facilities of the proposed Black Mesa
Collection Conduit would be prepared. This will include field
investigations, analyses, and designs as appropriate and as re-
quired to size and design the system.

3. Briefly investigate water rights constraints that apply to the

project. An objective of this investigation would be to find more

efficient methods of utilizing present existing supplies among the

various water right owners.

-1-
