Estimated construction quantities and costs were determined based on the prelim-
inary design sketches. A summary of the estimated quantities and their associated
costs are shown in Table 6.1. The total construction cost is estimated to be
$387,000.

The Total Project Cost for the preliminary design is estimated from normal
project cost items listed below:

1. Construction
2. Contingency Costs: 20% of Item 1
3. Engineering and Construction Service Costs: 12% of Items 1 and 2

A contingency of 20% of the estimated construction cost is included to cover
incidental and anticipated costs. Engineering costs include final engineering
design, surveying, soils testing, and normal construction services. No costs
have been included for the purchase of right-of-way, interest during construction,
or legal fees as these costs are expected to be very minimal. The estimated
costs of the preliminary design presented in this report are presented below:
