The increase in embankment height
will increase flood storage and enable the emergency spillway crest to be raised
1.5 feet back to its original elevation. This will provide the City of Victor
with the additional water storage that it lost when the State Engineer required
the spillway to be lowered.

Flattening the downstream slope will provide additional stability and enable the
structure to meet current design factors of safety. The emergency spillway will
be widened to 42 feet wide and have sideslopes of 2H:1V. This will enable the
spillway to pass 1/2 of the PMF without overtopping the embankment.

Other improvements recommended under this plan include provisions for a foot-
bridge over the new emergency to provide access to the dam crest and control
gates, extension of the gate well and catwalk, extension of the outlet pipe, and
riprap protection of the spillway and embankment.

Costs

Estimated construction quantities and costs were determined based on the prelimi-
nary design sketches. A summary of the estimated quantities and their associated
costs are shown in Table 6.1. The total construction cost is estimated to be
$387,000.

Table 6.1

EstilBted Construction

Quantities and Costs

EstilllClted Unit
Quantity Cost

Total
Cost

Item

Description

Unit

1
2

Mobil ization

LS

LS

$ 50,000
$ 1 ,500

$ 50,000
$ 1,500

Dewatering

LS

LS

3
