The State
Health Department has condemned the water as unsafe for both BOD
and turbidity.

"Ill

~

~

In addition, the limited flows from Clear Creek and the over-
growth of vegetation at the springs create shortage of water.
Residents are restricted from watering their gardens and lawns.

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

In the winter, a portion of the collection line freezes be-
cause of the shallow depths of this line and the method of oper-
ation that must be carried out by the town. One resident at the
upper storage facility has a commitment from the town to supply
water. To supply this resident requires building up a pressure
in the line which is shallow and thereby making the line conducive
to freezing.

CURRENT STATUS

In June, 1976, the town council requested
State of Colorado, Division of Local Affairs.
Affairs could not assist water supply projects
to Colorado Water Conservation Board for Grant
feasibility study.

In December, 1976, the Town applied for a HUD, community
discretionary grant to upgrade their system.
