<br />The Selected Project <br /> <br />The company has decided to rebuild the concrete portion of the <br />diversion to a narrower width of 60 feet. A preliminary layout <br />and design is shown in Appendix B. (Construction plans are also <br />included in the file pocket of this study,) <br /> <br />The project involves driving sheet piling into the river sand to <br />support the new concrete wing-wall, and to protect the entire <br />structure. The new wing-wall will be doweled into the existing <br />structure and made part of it. A sand dam will be constructed <br />between the wing wall and the north bank of the river, <br /> <br />Water Rights <br /> <br />The BDC has water rights to allow diversion form the South Platte <br />River, The State Engineer's Office (SEO) annual diversion <br />records for BDC for years 1993, 1994, and 1995 show 5731.8 ac-ft, <br />6244.85 ac-ft, and 4827.44 ac-ft diverted respectively, The SEO <br />Diversion records for the Farmer's Ditch, 1995, show total <br />diversions of 1643.53 ac-ft. The SEO records are shown in <br />Appendix C, <br /> <br />Cost Estimate <br /> <br />The selected alternative is estimated to cost a total of $43,221. <br />The planning and design costs will be primarily absorbed by the <br />NRCS.
