.

The-third and largest of the three teaks

is located near the Clear Creek - Raton Creek

I
junction. The capacity of this tank is reported

to be approximately 250,000 gallons. This tank

is approximately one mile south of the Maxwell

Land Grant boundary and two miles from the
chlorination system.' It is considered to be too

remote and costly to be considered for inclusion
in the presently proposed project. The Town of

Starkvi11e has a well reported to be drilled and

cased to a depth of 200 feet, and equipped with

a submersible pump. The well will pump about

12 gallons per minute but the water has a high

sulphur content and is unsuitable for domestic

use.

Because of the undependable source of water

supply, the prohibitive cost of collecting,

filtering and treating the water and replacing

the collection and distribution system, the

only possible alternate to obtaining water
from the City of Trinidad is to do nothing.

This is not considered to be an acceptable
alternate.

2. Land requirements are not a problem factor

for tnis project.

8
