pramiss and similar soils are oil hillsides, ridges and uplands. These

soils are moderately deep and well drained. They formed in calcareous

colluvium and residuum derived domillBntly from sedimentary rocks. The

surface layer is very stony loam. the sUbsoil is clay loam and clay. Below

this to a depth of 20 to 40 inches the soils are clay. Weathered mudstone

and shale is at a depth of 20 to 40 inches.

Of minor elCtent in this unit are deep Hesperus, Granath and Acree soils,

moderately deep Nortez soils, and Rock outcrop.

MOst areas of this unit are used for wildlife habitat and wood

production. A few areas are used for limited grazing. Wildlife suited to

native areas of this unit are elk, mule deer, mountain lions, black bear and

coyotes.
