CHAPTER 3
LAND

3.1 General

There are approximately 1600 acres of irrigated la~d served by ditches from

East Divide Creek, located as shown on Figure 1.1. The Project will provide

supplemental irrigation for approximately 200 of these presently irrigated

acres. No new lands will be placed under irrigation by this Project. The crops

grown are alfalfa and grass hay. Land use is expected to stay essentially the

same in the near future, except that an increasing number of large, rural

residences will be built on the hillside tracts adjacent to irrigated fields.

Several of these homes have been built in recent years; and it is estimated that

with a source of augmentation water available, an average of one new residence

will be constructed each year.
