The Project will provide <br /> <br /> <br />supplemental irrigation for approximately 200 of these presently irrigated <br /> <br /> <br />acres. No new lands will be placed under irrigation by this Project. The crops <br /> <br /> <br />grown are alfalfa and grass hay. Land use is expected to stay essentially the <br /> <br /> <br />same in the near future, except that an increasing number of large, rural <br /> <br /> <br />residences will be built on the hillside tracts adjacent to irrigated fields. <br /> <br /> <br />Several of these homes have been built in recent years; and it is estimated that <br /> <br /> <br />with a source of augmentation water available, an average of one new residence <br /> <br /> <br />will be constructed each year. <br /> <br />-4- <br />
