I

I

that the application should be granted and the conditional water right
be continued in full force and effect.

I

The water quality is that of the Colorado River at the diversion point.
The chemical and physical characteristics are shown on Table 4-c. Since
this project involves irrigation of residential areas such as small gardens,
lawns and park areas, effects of dissolved minerals on the soils, crop pro-
duction, etc. have not been investigated nor are any problems anticipated.

I

I

It is anticipated that measures will be taken, during actual design, to
incorporate fish screens or other protective devices to prevent any fish
from being drawn into the intakes of the pumping facilities. Since the
operation will be run on automatic time clocks, however, no selective with-
drawal will be utilized.

I

I

The diversion works and transport system for the proposed project will in-
volve velocities that will prevent settling and sedimentation within these
structures. However, sedimentation will occur within the storage reservoirs
and no specific provisions will be constructed for avoidance of sedimentation.
It is planned that the reservoir_will be drained periodically for sediment
removal. This is the present method utilized for the two existing smaller
reservoirs.

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

IV - 3
