Water Requirements <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The irrigation system will deliver water to individual lots in single <br />family residential areas. Multi-family residential areas will have one <br />point of delivery per cluster. The quantities of water are based on the <br />following assumptions: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1. An average irrigation water requirement for lawns is 1" per week. <br />Watering will take place 2 days per week for individual units. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />2. Irrigated areas for single family detached homes will average 7,000 <br />square feet. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />3. Multi-family common greenbelt areas will average 3,500 square feet <br />of irrigated area per unit. <br /> <br />4. Public parks, athletic fields, picnic grounds, etc., will require <br />100 gallons per day per 1000 square feet of grassed area. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />5. Full development as currently projected will result in approximately <br />1550 single family det~ched dwelling units, and 1450 multi-family dwelling <br />units, and 500,000 ft. of public grassed area. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />6. The irrigation season is historically about six months long, the peak <br />demand for irrigation water being fairly uniform over the three-month period <br />from mid June to mid September. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />7. Lake water will percolate into the soil at a rate of ~ inch per day. <br />8. Lake water will evaporate at a rate of 72 inches per year. <br />9. Lakes will have surface areas of four and seven acres, and approximate <br />storage volumes of 33 ac/ft. and 44 ac/ft. respectively. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />As indicated above, losses from point of diversion to point of delivery will <br />be minimized through piping from the tailrace at the Colorado River to the <br />reservoirs and from the reservoirs to the residences through a distribution <br />system. Any losses, therefore, will occur at the lakes through percolation <br />and evaporation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The diversion requirements will be 5.23 acre feet. The diversion structure <br />at the pump station near the river will be sized for 10 cfs and will satisfy <br />the 5.23 acre foot demand in approximately 6.3 hours. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The projected requirements for irrigation water at the diversion, through <br />the pump station, will range from 2,700 gpm to 5,400 gpm initially to 10,800 <br />gpm after expansion. Usage of irrigation water is anticipated only during <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />IV - 1 <br />
