They are requesting a loan in the amount
of $280,500 (75 % of the estimated total project cost of $374,000).

The purpose of the project is to rebuild the Town's existing diversion on North St. Vrain Creek,
about 3 miles above town. The Town's existing diversion was built around the turn of the
century, and is nearly disintegrated. It is necessary to line the diversion with plastic sheeting
during the winter months to divert low flowS to the Town's drinking water. supply. In this
condition, the diversion is subject to being completely destroyed during floods. There is no
existing raw water storage below the diversion to supply the town in an emergency. .

The new intake structure, consisting of a diversion dam, presedimentation basin, inlet gate, and
high water protection barrier, will be built at the location of the existing intake structure. The
raw water pipeline from the diversion to the water treatment plant was installed in the last 20
years, and is in good condition.

Preliminary engineering design work as well as the feasibility study are being completed by RBD
Engineering, Fort Collins.
