INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />2.1 Scope and Purpose <br /> <br />The scope of this study is to determine operational capabilities and limitations of the wate r <br />supply, diversion and intake components of the water supply system of the Town of Lyons, <br />Colorado. Capacities required to meet foreseeable future demands are addressed. The report will <br />also be used to support the funding needed to [mance some of the proposed improvements. <br /> <br />The purpose of this report is to document the study and present pertinent operational data. The <br />report includes recommended actions which deal with the performance limitations which have <br />been identified. (Tracy) Kittell, E.!.T., water storage, transmission and distribution. <br /> <br />2.2 Population Served and Population Projection <br /> <br />The Town utility systems currently serve an estinIated population of 1450. Growth by annexation <br />is limited on the north, west, and south through land use policies instituted by Boulder County. <br />These lands are either designated as open space or owned by mineral extraction interests, Land <br />acquisition to the east and infill of land already annexed remain viable possibilities for increases <br />in water demand.
