The annual budget for this agency should
contain a line item for South Platte River maintenance under the annual
construction fund. The eWCB should then contract with the UD&FCD to
perform the actual maintenance work. Additional funding might be available
through the UD&FCD for maintenance based on annual priorities.

Adjacent land O&M would be appropriately placed with the City of Englewood
and the South Suburban District.

Alternative No. 4 requires less than an acre of land acquisition, while
Alternative No. 5 requires limited land access of up to approximately two
acres. In the event that it was a desire of the governmental agencies
involved to provide for an impetus for future area economic development,
additional land should be considered; but this is not vital to the
completion of Alternative Nos. 4 or 5 as described.

It is anticipated that a 404 permit will be required for either
alternative; however, alternative No. 5 will reqUire more detail because of
the old Oxbow involvement in the lower portion of the boat chute. This is
not considered to be a problem.

The estimated operation and maintenance cost is approximately $9,400 per
year, including both in-chute and adjacent land maintenance.

GENERAL
This feasibillty report is judged to be adequate for the following
purposes.

1. Judging of the economic feasibillty of constructing a boat chute
at Union Avenue dam.
