Water from both creeks are combined with other sources to
feed the reservoir.

o Cedar edge canal was included in all alternatives to convey water from
Cactus Park reservoir to the Lower Tongue Creek basin over a distance
of 10.2 miles with capacities varying from 50 cfs to 150 cfs. The canal
would have its heading at the outlet works in the Cactus Park reservoir.
The first diversion from the canal would be where the Lower Redlands
lateral begins some distance below the proposed reservoir. The
diversion to Surface Creek would be where the canal crosses the creek
above Cedaredge. The canal's last diversion is into the Kiser and
Youngs Creek on the otherside of Cedaredge.

o Leroux Creek feeder canal was included in Alternative 2 and Alterna-
tive 3 to convey water from the Leroux Creek basin to Cactus Park
reservoir and water from the Overland Ditch watershed to Cactus Park
reservoir in Alternative 3. The length of the Leroux Creek feeder canal
is 5.3 miles and its capacity is 1;0 cfs and 80 cfs in Alternatives 2 and 3,
respectively. The canal would divert water from Leroux Creek at a
point north of Redlands Mesa and east of the proposed reservoir.

o An enlarged Overland Ditch was used in Alternative 3 to provide for an
additional capacity of 1;0 cfs. The length of the Overland Ditch is
approximately 22 miles.

2. Decription of Alternatives

The layout and configuration of each of the three alternative plans is
displayed on Figures V-I, V-2 and V-3. The following paragraphs describe the
key features of each alternative:

V-4
