Irrigation Use <br /> <br />The possibility of expansion of the crop area served by the Monte <br />Vi sta and Ri 0 Grande Canal s is remote because of corporate <br />1 imi tati ons, topography and wa ter supply 1 imi tati ons. The trend or <br />pattern in the three counties over the past several years has been <br />relatively constant for total cropped acreage, with increases or <br />decreases in acreage of individual crops a result of market pressure. <br /> <br />b. Municipal and Industrial Use <br /> <br />There are no indications that the present pattern of widely- <br />dispersed agricultural water users will change. Introduction of new <br />industry and population demands beyond the existing agricultural acti- <br />vity is unlikely given available information and conditions. <br /> <br />C. Land Ownership <br /> <br />Water di verted through the Ri 0 Grande and t,lonte Vi sta Canal s is <br />available to stockholders of the Santa Maria Reservoir Company, <br />tota 1 i ng 240 famil i es.
