I
I
II
I
I
I
I
II
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

The proposed location of the treated water storage tank is on a
ridge from Grass Mesa in the NE~ NE~ of Section 22 just above the
road up Ramsey Gulch. The base of the tank would be at elevation
5504 feet. This elevation is sufficient to provide for distribution
of water by gravity throughout the South Rifle Division area which
would be divided into two service zones as indicated on the Project
Map, The upper. service zone would consist of that portion of the
South Rifle Division area lying between elevations 5330 and 5400
with the portion of the South Rifle Division area lying below elevation
5330 being in the lower service zone, Static pressures in the upper
service zone would vary from 45 psi to 75 psi and in the lower service
zone from 45 psi to 71 psi. A pressure reducing valve (PRV) would be
installed in the connecting tap for the Southside Center and for
other taps to the trunk supply pipeline in the lower service zone.

DESIGN

The first stage water system proposed for the South Rifle Division was
sized to supply the estimated residential population of 1,450 persons
projected for this area by 1990 plus the water requirements estimated
for the Southside Center, After 1990 it is anticipated that the
water supply for the area will be provided from the West Divide Project.
The residential water requirements were determined on the basis of an
average per capita consumption of 125 gpd for the first stage system
(1990) demand and at increasing per capita rates up to 135 gpcd by the
year 2025. These consumption rates recognize a lower demand in the
early years of development for fire fighting and other public uses and
system operating uses as shown in Table IV-2.

V-3
