Development of the Souths ide Center is <br />planned to be completed in a five-year period. <br /> <br />In June 1980 an a9reement was entered into between the Southside <br />Center and D. S. Enterprises. owners of properties to the north and <br />west of the proposed Souths ide Center, to pursue the design and con- <br />struction of a joint domestic/municipal water system. This agreement <br />indicated that the Souths ide Center and D. S. Enterprises intended <br />to work closely with the West Divide Water Conservancy District and <br />the Rifle Village South Metropolitan District to the end that the <br />joint water supply system could be integrated into an ultimate overall <br />water supply utility system serving the area. <br /> <br />According to the P. U. D. application it was planned to obtain the <br />water supply for this joint system from well fields located along the <br />south bank of the Colorado River. However, the developers of the <br />Souths ide Center have recently approached the City of Rifle for a <br />supply of municipal waters while still expressing an interest in ob- <br />taining the needed waters from West Divide. Under the contemplated <br />agreement with the City the Southside Center would be annexed to <br />Rifle as soon as legally possible. <br /> <br />LAND OWNERSHIP <br /> <br />The area of the South Rifle Division. as shown on the Project Map. <br />contains about 1.140 acres. All of this land excepting dedicated <br />road and other rights-of-way is privately owned. The area borders <br />on BLM lands in several places on the south.
