Unit 80-00~365, <br />WHEREAS. required approval. clearance and c~ordination has been accomplished from and with appropriate <br />agencies: and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of Colorado supports the basinwide <br />approach to the control of salinity in the Colorado River Basin <br />which has been adopted by the federal government and the seven <br />Colorado River Basin states; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS I the Colorado Water Conservation Board (State) is <br />the lead agency for Coloradols participation in the Colorado <br />River Basin salinity control program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS I completion of the "Grand Valley Salinity Control <br />Unit by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau) requires that the <br />private laterals in the Grand "Valley be organized into entities <br />with which the Bureau can contract for the laterals' operation <br />and maintenan~e; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Bureau has requested that the State undertake <br />an investigation of alternative means for accomplishing the <br />needed organization of" such lat~rals and will reimburse the State <br />for its costs in performing such an investig,ation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Attorney General has consented to the use of <br />private "legal counsel by the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />for this investigation pursuant to section 37-60-114, CRS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the law firm of Dufford, Waldeck, Ruland & Milburn <br />(Contractor) was ,the" low bidder in invitation number ERR42484 on <br />April 24, 1985, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, section 24-101-101, et seq., Colorado R~vise~ <br />Statutes, as amended, has been fully 'complied with. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br /> <br />1. The State will compensate the Contractor the sum of <br />Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000) for the legal research described <br />in Exhibit A. The Contractor will further be reimbursed for <br />actual costs, not to exceed One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) for <br />travel, lodging, mealsl and long distance telephone charges <br />incurred in the conduct of the work required to be performed by <br />Exhibit A. <br /> <br />2.
