The proposed field investigation will consist of a detailed site
iIispection, surface geophysics, drilling, soil sampling and piezometer installation.

2.2.1 Site Inspection

The proposed site inspection will consist of a detailed inspection of the area immediately
downstream of the dam, the embankment, and the impoundment. The inspection effort
will be concentrated on the areas with existing sinkholes. This task will be performed
in conjunction with the drilling program. A detailed written summary of the results of
the site inspection will be prepared and presented as part of the feasibility report.

2.2.2 Embankment and Impoundment

The existing sinkholes will be dimensioned and located on a suitable map based on
surveyed coordinates and elevation. A walk-over inspection of the impoundment
immediately upstream of the dam will be conducted to locate other possible sinkhole
sites and bedrock outcrops in general. These sites will also be located on the map. In
addition, springs and associated measuring weirs in the area immediately downstream
of the dam will be located and shoWn on the map. A surface assessment of the site
geology will also be made at this time.

2.2.3 Surface Geophysics

Surface geophysical techniques such as self potential (SP), resistivity, seismic refraction
and ground penetrating radar, can sometimes provide data on general embankment and
foundation conditions which can be extremely valuable and cost effective when
interpreted in conjunction with data from strategically placed boreholes and backhoe test
pits. Based on our present knowledge of the site geology, foundation and embankment
conditions, we believe that relatively inexpensive SP and resistivity surveys may be
applicable at Beaver Reservoir to better define embankment condition, foundation
geology and potential high seepage zones. The subsurface profiles generated from these
surveys would be used to better define the site geology, delineate zones of concentrated
faulting and fracturing, and highlight areas with possible high concentrations of
subsurface voids or relatively high moisture contents.
