2

Fort ColI ins, Colorado. Total decreed storage rights of the
Company are 49,741 acre-feet. It has direct flow and storage
rights In the Cache La Poudre River, transcontinental diversion
rights from the Colorado River, and transbasin rights from the
Michigan and Laramie Rivers of the North Platte River drainage.
The major storage facilities of the Company include Chambers Lake,
Long Draw, Black Hollow, . Rocky Ridge, Long Pond, Kluver, and Link
Lake Reservoirs. Several smaller reservoirs also are included in
this Company's system,

"."/

The proposed project would provide supplemental irrigation water
to lands under the Company's jurisdiction by providing additional
capacity for storing .nonirrigation season flows. The existing
Long Draw Dam would be raised 23.4 feet from a crest elevation of
10,089.6 feet to 10,113.0 feet by the addition of new embankment
on the downstream slope. The new dam would have a crest width of
16 feet and woul d be about 2,400 feet long. ,The storage capaci ty
of the reservoir would be increased from 4,400 acre-feet with a
surface area of.250 acres to 11,000 acre-feet with a surface area
of about 340 acres. A minimum pool for fish and wildlife and
recreation would be maintained at elevation 10,059 feet. The
permanent pool would have a surface area of about 84 acres and
contain about 600 acre-feet of water. The primary water supply
would be obtained from the transcontinental Grand River Ditch
which diverts water from the headwaters of the Colorado River
to Long Draw Reservoir. Pertinent data concerning the reservoir
enlargement are given in Table I.

Table 1. We understand that the Co~pany has applied
for a special-use permit from the Forest Service for the necessary
additional land around the reservoi r.
