Bureau of Reclamation
Building 46, Denver Federal Center
Denver, Colorado 80225

Dear Sir:

I have reviewed the draft copy of the "Small Reclamation Project
Application Report for the Long Draw Reservoir Enlargement Project
of the Water Supply and Storage Company." .

.,-'

It is my opinion that this project will be beneficial to the
State's water resources in that it will provide additional high
mountain water storage, lessen evaporation losses, and will reduce
certain hazards inherent with the existing Long Draw Dam. The lining
of portions of the Grand River Ditch will reduce seepage losses, which
will mean that more water can be put to beneficial use. The project
will create recreation and fishing benefits, which are particularly
desirable in the scenic La Poudre Pass area adjacent to the Rocky
Mountain National Park.

',"

Engineers have reviewed the tabulation of water rights listed
in the report and have concluded that these rights are valid claims
and are adequate for the purposes as set forth in the report.

In addition, I am of the opinion that the project as set forth
in the proposal, is feasible from both the engineering and financial
points of view.

1J;:;&
