The length of the Fort <br />Lyon Storage Canal from its diversion dam to the turnout to Horse Creek Reservoir is <br />about 34 miles, and the length to Adobe Creek Reservoir is about 46 miles. Water from <br />these reservoirs is delivered to the Fort Lyon Canal ond used to supplement the water <br />diverted under the direct flow priorities. <br /> <br />Horse Creek Reservoir. This reservoir has a total decree capacity of 28,000 acre- <br />feet which can be supplied from the Arkansas River through the Fort Lyon Storage Canal <br />or from Horse Creek. Priorities for its original construction (11,400 acre-feet) are: <br />I. August 14, 1900--2,000 cfs from Horse Creek; <br />2. Jonuary 25, 1906--840 cfs from the Arkansos River; and <br />3. March I, 1910--1,466 cfs from the Arkansas River. <br /> <br />For the first enlargement (15,487 acre-feetl, the priorities are: <br />I. January 25, 1906--840 cfs from the Arkansas River; <br />2. December 20, 1907-5,000 cfs from Horse Creek; and <br />3. March I, 1910--1,466 cfs from the Arkansas River. <br /> <br />For the second enlargement (1,113 acre-feet): <br />I. June 12, 1908-5,000 cfs from Horse Creek; <br />2. June 12, 1908-840 cfs from the Arkansas River; and <br />3. March I, 1910--1,466 cfs from the Arkansas River. <br /> <br />Water from Horse Creek Reservoir is released into the Horse Creek outlet canal <br />and discharged into the Fort Lyon Canal at a point about 17 miles downstream from the <br />Fort Lyon Canal headgate. <br /> <br />Adobe Creek Reservoir. This reservoir has a total decreed capacity of 87,000 acre- <br />feet. Its original construction (61,575 acre-feet) has the following priorities: <br />I. January 25, 1906--8,631 cfs from Adobe Creek; <br />2. January 25, 1906--840 cfs from the Arkansas River; and <br />3. March I, 1910--1,466 cfs from the Arkansas River. <br /> <br />For its enlargement (25,425 acre-feet), the priorities are: <br />I. December 29, 1908--8,631 cfs from Adobe Creek; <br />2. December 29, 1908--840 cfs from the Arkansas River; and <br />3. March I, 1910-1,466 cfs from the Arkansas River. <br /> <br />From Adobe Creek Reservoir, water is released into Adobe Creek through the <br />Adobe Creek outlet canal, about 2.5 miles in length, and then discharged into the Fort <br />Lyon Canal about 23 miles downstream from its headgate. <br /> <br />8 <br />
