I

I

I

The Porter Reservoir No. 1 Feeder Ditch has an absolute
decree for 20.40 c.f.s. for irrigation uses and a recent Priority
Number of K-98. The ditch was constructed as a means of filling
Porter Reservoir No. 1 by conveying water from Oak Creek, or
water released from Porter Reservoir No.4, into the reservoir.
The ditch was acquired by Delta in the Carl White Ranch purchase
of 1964.

I

I

The Hoosier Ditch and its first enlargement carry decrees
for 5.247 c.f.s. absolute under Priority Number A-104 and 4.05
c.f.s. absolute under Priority Number A-I06, both for irrigation
uses. Delta acquired these rights in 1964 as a part of the White
Ranch purchase. Because the rights were decreed for irrigation
use, the City of Delta prior to 1975 could use this water for
irrigation purposes only on their ranch properties. In the recent
Court Case No. W-1687, the City was granted an alternate point
of diversion for this right at the intake of the Dirty George
Creek Aqueduct on Dirty George Creek. Also at this time, the
character of use for this right was changed from irrigation to
irrigation, domestic, and municipal. Because of the character change,
only 25 percent of the original decrees, or up to 1.31 c.f.s. under
Priority No. A-104 and up to 1.01 c.f.s. under Priority No. A-106, may
be diverted at the alternate point when needed by the City for
municipal and domestic uses. The other 75 percent of the original
decrees must remain in Dirty George Creek and may not be picked up
under this priority at any other point. Since this is an alternate
point of diversion, the City still has the option to use the water for
irrigation purposes on the ranch when not being diverted for domestic
purposes.

I

I

I

I

I

I

I

The Delta County Ditch was purchased in 1965 from Naomi
Hart along with the Morris Reservoir Number 2. This ditch has
an absolute decree for 1.25 c.f.s. and derives its water supply
from Dirty George Creek, Camp Creek, and Oak Creek and utilizes
the Hoosier Ditch as its carrier. This right has also recently
been granted both an alternate point of diversion at the intake
of the Dirty George Creek Aqueduct on Dirty George Creek and
a change in character of use with a 25 percent quantity reduction
to provide for any adverse affect. This means up to 0.31 c.f.s. will
be legally divertible into the pipeline at the alternate point.

I

I

I

The City's interest in the Blake Ditch, or 1.00 c.f.s. of 1.62
c.f.s. under Priority No. 24, was purchased from C. V. Hallenbeck in
1947. In 1951 under Court Case No. 3724, the City agreed to "leave in
Dirty George Creek five acre-feet of annual flow of the City's 100/162
interest in Priority Number 24 awarded to the Blake Ditch, or 0.25
cubic feet per second of time for a one hundred (100) day period,
commencing on the date that Dirty George Creek is put on decrees each
yearll in return for several other concessions from the Court. Recently

I

I

I

II - 6

I
