William McDonald
Director
David w. Walker
Deputy Director

TO: ISF Investigation, Division 4, Case No. 4-83CW226

FROM: Ruth Yeager
DATE: April 15, 1985

SUBJECT: Inquiries about our ISF filings on East River

Mark Doman of Alford International called (519-679-8240)
to ask about our filings on the East River. His firm makes
snowmaking systems and represents Crested Butte. I gave him the
following information:

Case No.

Reach

Flow

83CW230

Brush to Alkali

15S/8W (Oct-Apr)
25S/15W (Oct-Apr)
50S/27W (Oct-Apr)
10

82CW255

Headwaters to Copper Creek

83CW226

Copper to Brush

83CW228

Alkali to Taylor

- Crested Butte is concerned with the reach in Case No.
83CW226. They are an objector in this case, which is
not yet decreed.

- Even without a decree, we can make objections on the
basis of this right.

- The 10 cfs from Brush Creek to Alkali is based on
consultation with the division engineer and others,
but not on any engineering study or gage data. It was
felt that return flows and tributaries contributed to
make the 50S/27W available below Alkali Creek.

~

Doman said that Crested Butte's data indicate that average
flows above Brush Creek are +1:"- c"fs ",for Nov-Dec. I said we would
have to look at their data.

-

RY:tam
