-

#

.

Memorandum
Laurie Mathews
October 4, 1990

S. Q. What is Park's position on the specified decree use fot
releases as instream flows?

;0-

A. It is Joe's belief that if the existing decree
specified the water use was for fisheries, it could be
released for fisheries purpose.

Joe wanted to specify that although Colo-Ute has pai,d for
an amount of water in Steamboat and have never called for it,
there is always the possibility they could call for it,
lowering Steamboat Lake lO vertical feet. In this event, he
was not sure what water could be released for the fish. Again
it would depend on the water supply that year.

I told Joe we would keep him informed as to what decisions
were made regarding this matter. If it became necessary, he
would be available for a meeting.

SZU/bj

"
.1,
I

.

-2-

c.

""""".... j
