'.

;~

...-..\

If project is funded, what on-going operational obligations will be
incurred? What i. the applicant's plan for addressing these additional
costs? This project is a feasibility study and could lead to substantial
costs for project devele,p"If.nt.. In any case, each oi these communities,
if they are to meet mandat.es in water quality, will be facing eHt.remely
high cost~. This will necessit.ate th8 need for dramatically increased
ff?eS, grant appl ications, loans. and bonded indebtedness as required.

Identify any service or facility plan wherein this project has been
indentified as a community need. If project is not funded with Impact
Assistance Funds, what actions will the applicant take to accomplish the
project? 'Attached to this application is a letter senl to the City of
Fort Lupton from the State H~alth Department. This same letter waS sent
t.o the cities and towns participating in t.his project, with the exception
of the City of Evans. the reason they did not receive this compliance
order is due to the fact that t.hey utilize the Greeley water supply, at
this time. for their domestic water use. All cities are und8r this
mandate with respect to the high nilrate problems encountered by shallow
well users. All must comply by the year 1992, with Safe Drinking Water
Act provisions.

Gale R. Custer, Mayor
City of Fort Lupton

"

;.
