'~ ...

..

of the water rights (such a direct flow and storage rights) could require a
lengthyprocess to get them adjudicated. The legal work, engineering studies,
and court hearings can take years, making these types of sources potentially
viable for future use, but not a solution to the illll1ediate problem.

Bob Brand noted that many facil Hies are currently in pl ace (treatment pl ants
belonging to Little Thompson and Central Weld systems or the City of Greeley)
and the possibility of buying into these should be studied. Especially to solve
the immediate water quality problems. For future needs, additional options may
be viable. This would also allow the Towns to gradually bring the systems up to
required levels for future needs, etc. and require less capital outlay at the
beginning.

It was requested that a copy of Evans' agreement with the City of Greeley be
forwarded, as well as any other pertinent studies done for Evans.

It is anticipated that the contract will be signed around the 25th to 28th of
May. The next step is the Task I meeting, where more brainstorming of the
, options will occur. This meeting is tentatively scheduled for the first week of
June. The project time frame will be June 1, 1989 to January IS, 1990 (final
report due). The payment schedule shall be at the completion of each task.

Gary Suiter will talk to Doyle Karsch from LaSalle to ascertain that they are
still interested in pursuing this study and if and when LaSalle wishes for the
consultants to attend a Town Board meeting.

Final meetings with each Town Board to present the final report will also be
held.
