<br />FPR 235 <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />July 13, 1984 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of <br />Naturita, Montrose County, Colorado," which includes floodplain <br />information and data for the San Miguel River and Tributary <br />Number 1, dated July 6, 1981, has been prepared by MSM <br />Consultants, Inc., under contract with the Federal Emergency <br />Management Agency; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describ@s and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />-.J <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Na turi ta has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to desig~ate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />requires the <br />prevention of <br /> <br />Section 37-60-106( 1l, Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />Colorado Water Conse):'vation Board to assist in the <br />floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only afte~ <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />directs the, Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Boaed has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board, designa te and approve as f loodpla in areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flooo (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />128 <br />res/235 <br />
