FPR 235 \ COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 823 State Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 July 13, 1984 RES 0 L UTI 0 N WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of Naturita, Montrose County, Colorado," which includes floodplain information and data for the San Miguel River and Tributary Number 1, dated July 6, 1981, has been prepared by MSM Consultants, Inc., under contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and WHEREAS, said report describ@s and outlines the floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or basins of the study area; and -.J WHEREAS, the Town of Na turi ta has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to desig~ate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and WHEREAS, requires the prevention of Section 37-60-106( 1l, Colorado Revised Statutes, Colorado Water Conse):'vation Board to assist in the floods and flood damages therefrom; and WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only afte~ designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the, Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and WHEREAS, the staff of the Boaed has reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that the Board, designa te and approve as f loodpla in areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flooo (intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; 128 res/235
