Outline needed field surveys to be completed by the City <br />surveyor. <br /> <br />3. Prepare a hydraulic model of the river channel through <br />this study reach to evaluate the effect of the filling on <br />the floodway profile and identify measures which will <br />restore lost river conveyance capability. An alternate <br />floodway limit would also be evaluated. <br /> <br />4. Prepare a report outlining the study effort for submittal <br />to th e City. <br /> <br />The study was not intended to serve as a request to FEMA to change the <br />f1 oodway del i neati on. Rather, the study is to advi se the City as to <br />the extent of the problem and provide technical data the City may use <br />to respond to the concerns of FEMA regarding this matter. <br /> <br />Authorization <br /> <br />This study was authorized by the City in a letter agreement signed by <br />the Mayor of Alamosa on November 5, 1986. <br /> <br />Coordination <br /> <br />During the course of the study, input was requested and received from <br />the City of Alamosa, the Albuquerque District Corps of Engineers and <br />FEMA. Each agency was very helpful and cooperative in responding to <br />our i nqui ri es about fi e 1 d data and river hydraul i cs at Ri verwood <br />Estates and specific FEMA concerns. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
