<br />Floodplain Hydrology and Hydraulics <br />State Park Headquarters on the Yampa River <br />Routt County, Colorado <br /> <br />Client Information <br /> <br />Client: Colorado Division of Parks and Outcloor Recreation <br />North Region Office <br />3482 South Mason St., Room 202 <br />Fort Collins, Colorado 80525 <br /> <br />Reference: Paul Barker <br />(970) 226,6641 <br /> <br />Project Information <br /> <br />The Colorado Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation (CD paR) <br />has planned a headquarters site including administrative, educational, <br />and camping activities along the north bank of the Yampa River west of <br />Hayden, Colorado. Ayres Associates performed an extensive analysis <br />of the area's floodplain hydrology and hydraulics to assist CDPOR in <br />its site development plans, <br /> <br />Annual peak series data from USGS flow gages along the Yampa River <br />were used to develop estimates of the 10-, 25" 50-, and 1 OO-year flood <br />events, Hydraulic analyses wem performed using the Corps of <br />Engineers' HEC,RAS software, Analysis scenarios included the pre- <br />development condition and the conditions after the proposed <br />development. In addition, a flood way encroachment analysis was <br />performed to determine the maximum feasible extE,nt of floodplain <br />development.
