<br />FEMA Studies and Restudies <br />Colorado Springs, EI Paso County, Colorado <br /> <br />Client Information <br /> <br />Client: Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />Region ViII <br />Denver Federai Center, Building 710 <br />Denver, CO 80225 <br /> <br />Reference: John Liou <br />(303) 235-4836 <br /> <br />Project Information <br /> <br />The project entailed two phases of floodpiain studi'9S for EI Paso County <br />and the City of Colorado Springs, The first phase included studies on <br />nine streams and encompassed 29 miles of floodplain mapping, The <br />second phase included seven streams and 24 milE's of floodplain <br />mapping, This project required the use of HEC,2 for development of <br />floodplain mapping, In addition, hydrology was developed for most <br />streams using either HEC-1 or TR-20. The hydraulic modeling required <br />complex analysis of numerous flow splits, lined and unlined channels, <br />and many bridges and culverts, <br /> <br />Ayres Associates was selected for this project from a solicitation of <br />proposals on a nationwide basis, This project required detailed review of <br />modeling results by city, county, state, and FEMA to assure the accuracy <br />of the floodplain mapping. <br /> <br />Ayres Associates' Staff <br /> <br />Dave Frick, P.E. <br /> <br />Principal-in-charge <br />
