RESTORING SERVICES <br />(Time to complete the task: 15 minutes) <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />Make plans to temporarily restore essential utilities and public services until permanent <br />repairs to the flooded facilities are completed. <br /> <br />Materials <br /> <br />· Base map with information from Tasks A-D <br /> <br />Steps <br /> <br />1. On the base map, review the information you have added showing flooded utility <br />facilities and lines and public facilities. Outline areas that would be affected by <br />service disruptions, especially water and sewer (red). <br /> <br />2. In the space provided below, note the key actions you will take to restore utilities <br />and public services until permanent repairs can be completed. <br /> <br />3. What problems do you foresee in restoring vital utilities and public services to the <br />community? On Handout 4. Recommended Actions, list actions that might be taken <br />now to avoid the problems identified. <br /> <br />Products <br /> <br />· Base map marked to show areas with disrupted utility service <br />.
