2. Addendum to Graphics Package

The graphics program is composed of two distinct routines. One routine

is the cross section plotting routine which plots the input data (cross

section data) for HEC-2 or GEDA. This routine will also plot the water

surface elevation lines on the cross sections if tape 95 has also been

provided as input. The other routine is the profile plotting routine.

This routine only plots profile type plots of river distance (x-axis) vs

one or more of the 65 variables on tape 95. A common use of this routine

is to plot water surface profiles.

,

This addendum deals with the additional option which has been added
to the cross section routine, which allows it to plot rating curve type
plots at each cross section based only on the variables on tape 95. The
program will utilize this option when no cross section file has been input
and only the tape 95 is available. A total of 14 curves can be defined
and plotted on one graph. Any of the 65 variables on tape 95 may be plotted
against each other. A common application is to plot discharge vs elevation
curves.

Several modifications have been done to the graphics package to improve

it and make it more flexible. The graphics package will now accept and

plot GUlA input and output data in the same manner that it accepts HEC-2

data and the user doesn't have to do anything different. The only difference

that the user has to keep in mind when plotting curves based on tape 95 is

that the variable numbers may be different for flEC-2 and GEDA.
