Flood would lack 2.0 feet of overtopping. The combined effect of

the two bridges and the approach fill would caUse head losses of

11.9 feet during the Standard Project Flood and 10.4 feet during

the Intermediate Regional Flood.

The U.S. Highway 50 crossing is at the southern Inter-

state Highway 25 interchange near the 22nd Street dead end, west of

the Freeway. Three bridges and high approach fills comprise this

flood plain crossing. The west 205-foot 4-span structure is a

cloverleaf type exit for U.S. Highway 50 that curves up and over

the Freeway. The center 160-foot 3-span bridge is a viaduct for

the frontage road and railroad tracks. The east 400-foot 5-span

structure bridges the creekbed. The Standard Project Flood would

overtop the roadway 5.8 feet, and the Intermediate Regional Flood

would reach the top of the roadbed. The combined head losses

attributable to the crossing would be 9.7 feet during the Standard

Project Flood and 8.9 feet during the Intermediate Regional Flood.

The 8th Street arch bridge is a 1,080-foot 18-span

structure located in the vicinity of downtown Pueblo. The Standard

Project Flood would overtop the roadway by 10.2 feet, while the In-

termediate Regional Flood would be 1.3 feet below the driving sur-

face. The head loss would be 7.4 feet during the Standard Project

Flood and 1.3 feet during the Intermediate Regional Flood.

The 4th Street arch bridge is a 620-foot 10-span

structure located near downtown Pueblo. The Standard Project Flood

would flow 5.0 feet deep over the roadway, and the Intermediate

Regional Flood would flow 1.8 feet below the roadway. The head

losses would be 4.4 feet and 2.0 feet, respectively, for the Stan-

dard Project Flood and Intermediate Regional Flood.

The Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway crosses

the creek over a 575-foot 5-span bridge that is skewed 60 degrees

to the direction of flow. The top of the rails would be over-

topped 1.6 feet by the Standard Project Flood, and the Intermediate

Regional Flood would be 12.2 feet under the top of the rails.

19
