<br />employment of hand-crimping operations on such areas where excessive ground <br />slopes or confined areas would cause unsat'ifactory crimping to result by <br />mechanical methods. <br /> <br />The seeded area shall be mulched and crimped within twenty four (24) hours <br />after seeding. Areas not mulched and crimped within twenty four (24) hours <br />after seeding must be reseeded with the specified seed mix at the Contractor's <br />expense prior to mulching and crimping. <br /> <br />On steep slopes or other specific areas as shown on plans, which are difficult <br />to mulch and crimp by conventional methods, burlap or other blanketing <br />material s properly anchored and secured may be used when approved by the <br />Engineer. <br /> <br />3.04 EROSION CONTROL NETTING (JUTE NETTING) <br /> <br />Install netting centered on lower wetland zone. <br /> <br />Overlap netting a minimum of 12" and p'in as required to eliminate washing. <br /> <br />3.06 MAINTENANCE AND ACCEPTANCE <br /> <br />A. Conditional and Final Acceptance: <br /> <br />1. Upon completion of all seeding operations, the Contractor shall <br />notify the Owner's Representative to inspect the work. Upon <br />inspection, if all work is acceptdble, the Owner's Representative <br />shall record that date and issue il "Final ilcceptance" certificate <br />which states that the Contractol' shall be responsible for all <br />seeded areas through the warranty period. <br /> <br />B. Warranty Period: <br /> <br />The warranty period shall begin immediately after all areas are <br />mechanically seeded and accepted by the Owner's Representative. <br /> <br />1. Contractor shall repair any daITIil<jed seeded areas pl'ior to Final <br />Acceptance. <br /> <br />2. Warranty Period shall be for 1 <jrowing season and shall end on <br />November 30, 1988 and shan ach'ieve 85% coverage with no bare <br />spots larger than 2 square feet. Coverage is based on the number <br />of 'I ive seedl ings per square fool;. If in the judgement of the <br />Owner's Representative, coverage has not been met, the Contractor <br />shall re-seed those areas lacking acceptab"le coverage. Upon re- <br />seeding, the seeded areas shall be reinspected after establ ishment <br />of the re-seeded areas. When acceptance coverage is met, the <br />Owner's Representative shall issue a Final Acceptance for seed <br />work which shall rel ieve the Contractor from further obl igations <br />for seeding work. <br /> <br />3. Maintenance: The Owner shall be responsible for watering seeded <br />areas throughout the maintenance period. <br />
