<br />A Depth-Intensity-Frequency curve which further illustrates the <br />maximum rainfall intensities with time is displayed on Figure 10. Using <br />the rainfall depths in Table 2 and the area-reduction curve of the NOAA <br />Atlas 2, Precipitation-Frequency Atlas of the Western United States, <br />Volume III, Colorado, the rainfall depths were determined for the storm <br />shown in Figure 11. This design storm was placed over several locations <br />to produce the mo~t severe effects at different points as a result of <br />a 100 year return period storm. The location shown produced the largest <br />diSCharge through the ephemeral drainageway north of town. The storm centered <br />just west of the intersection of U.S. Highway 34 and the Burlington RR <br />tracks produced the greatest ponding above the track embankments. Similarly, <br />the storm was centered over the urban basins to produce the 100 year <br />discharges for these sub-basins. <br /> <br />-12- <br />
