<br />e <br /> <br />FPR 00-533 <br />Town of Norwood <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 20, 2000 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />PREVIOUS FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a map entitled "Flood Hazard Boundary Map, Town of Nmwood" dated <br />November 22, 1974 was published by the Federal Insurance Administration but was never formally <br />designated by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Flood Hazard Boundary Map includes three special flood hazard areas <br />(approximate Zone A floodplains) within Norwood: Ed Joe Draw, Cedar Street Drainage, and the <br />west drainage; and <br /> <br />e WHEREAS, the west drainage has a watershed area of less than one square mile and is <br />therefore too small for CWCB designation as a mapped floodplain; flows along the Cedar Street <br />Drainage are primarily handled by a storm sewer system within the town; and Ed Joe Draw is a <br />significant drainage worthy of being considered as a flood hazard for the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency published a new set of maps <br />entitled "Flood Insurance Rate Map, San Miguel County, Colorado" dated September 30, 1992 that <br />includes approximate and detailed floodplain information for incorporated and unincorporated <br />portions of the county; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new Flood Insurance Rate Maps show the entire community of Norwood, <br />within an unshaded X Zone for flood insurance purposes, which is contrary to the flood hazard <br />areas published on said Flood Hazard Boundary Map dated November 22, 1974; and <br /> <br />FLOODPLAIN INFORMATION TO BE DESIGNATED <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board completed a new report entitled <br />"Floodplain Information Report, Town of Norwood, Colorado" dated November 2000 that provides <br />technical and regulatory floodplain information to supplement said Flood Hazard Boundary Map <br />dated November 22, 1974 and said Flood Insurance Rate Map dated September 30, 1992; and <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />WHEREAS, flood history information within the Town of Norwood is very limited and no <br />known flood disasters have occurred in the community; and <br />
