Control runoff from the development of presently
undeveloped land upstream of Wadsworth Blvd. to
historical flows (runoff from undeveloped watershed) .
During construction and planning, any future develop-
ment upstream on Wadsworth Blvd. must include facili-
ties to regulate releases under Wadsworth. The
detention pond above Wadsworth has been constructed
according to Jefferson County's subdivision regulations.
It is assumed the detention pond has the facilities
to regulate releases through Wadsworth.

Reach No. 2--Webster to 100 Feet Upstream of Lamar

. Control development in the flood plain through flood
plain regulations. This nonstructural control
should be used to preclude development from pierce
Street to 100 feet upstream of Lamar from the
floodway.

. Construct a 250-foot-long berm along northeast
corner with asphalt overflow pavement at Webster
pond area to incr~ase the storage capacity of the
pond. The flood water should spill out over the
pavement sections during the 100-year flood.

Reach No. 3--100 Feet Upstream of Lamar to Sheridan Boulevard

. In general, control development in the flood plain
through flood plain regulations. In addition,
replace each of the existing CMP culverts at Kendall
Blvd. and Lamar S~reet with two 4 foot x 8 foot
concrete box culverts in order to reduce flood
damage to houses. Modify the existing culvert inlet
at Sheridan Blvd. to permit passage of the 100-year
flood flow.

Reach No. 4--Sheridan Boulevard to Gravel Pits

. Control development in the flood plain through flood
plain regulations. This alternative also involves
acquisition of rights-of-way or easements and uses
the existing natural flood drainageway. Install
inverted siphons with inlet and outlet structures to
separate the flood runoff from the Platte Canyon
Ditch and Nevada Ditch irrigation water. Construct
earth dikes along both sides of the ditch crossings
to confine flood water in the drainage channel.

2-3
