The <br />detention pond above Wadsworth has been constructed <br />according to Jefferson County's subdivision regulations. <br />It is assumed the detention pond has the facilities <br />to regulate releases through Wadsworth. <br /> <br />Reach No. 2--Webster to 100 Feet Upstream of Lamar <br /> <br />. Control development in the flood plain through flood <br />plain regulations. This nonstructural control <br />should be used to preclude development from pierce <br />Street to 100 feet upstream of Lamar from the <br />floodway. <br /> <br />. Construct a 250-foot-long berm along northeast <br />corner with asphalt overflow pavement at Webster <br />pond area to incr~ase the storage capacity of the <br />pond. The flood water should spill out over the <br />pavement sections during the 100-year flood. <br /> <br />Reach No. 3--100 Feet Upstream of Lamar to Sheridan Boulevard <br /> <br />. In general, control development in the flood plain <br />through flood plain regulations. In addition, <br />replace each of the existing CMP culverts at Kendall <br />Blvd. and Lamar S~reet with two 4 foot x 8 foot <br />concrete box culverts in order to reduce flood <br />damage to houses. Modify the existing culvert inlet <br />at Sheridan Blvd. to permit passage of the 100-year <br />flood flow. <br /> <br />Reach No. 4--Sheridan Boulevard to Gravel Pits <br /> <br />. Control development in the flood plain through flood <br />plain regulations. This alternative also involves <br />acquisition of rights-of-way or easements and uses <br />the existing natural flood drainageway. Install <br />inverted siphons with inlet and outlet structures to <br />separate the flood runoff from the Platte Canyon <br />Ditch and Nevada Ditch irrigation water. Construct <br />earth dikes along both sides of the ditch crossings <br />to confine flood water in the drainage channel. <br /> <br />2-3 <br />
