Staff Engineer ti)r <br />the drainage evaluation of the Jewell Elementary School lot. Evaluation included reviewing <br />information provided by the city, performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations for the local <br />drainage, identifying problem areas, and developing potential solutions. Final solution presented <br />included berm and channel design. Responsibility also included final and interim report preparation. <br /> <br />Denver International Airport Drainage, Denver Colorado. Staff Engineer for the storm-sewer <br />drainage design of new construction at the Denver International Airport. Evaluation included <br />reviewing existing storm drainage system and modit:ring to accommodate further construction. <br /> <br />City of Aurora, Springhill Golf Course Drainage J~valuation, Aurora Colorado. Staff Enginel~r <br />for the drainage evaluation of the SpringhiIl Golf Course. Evaluation included reviewing hydrologic <br />and hydraulic information provided by the city, refining and supplementing thf: calculations using <br />CUHP-SWMM, identifying problem areas, and developing potential solutions. Responsibility also <br />included final and interim report preparation. <br /> <br />Union Pacific Railroad. Staff Engineer for hyclrologic and hydraulic analyses supporting the Union <br />Pacific Railroad's bridge renewal program. Performed site specific hydraulic analyses and bridge <br />sizing for railroad crossings of streams having drainage basins ranging in size from a few acres to <br />several hundred miles. Projects include site visits, surveys, agency contacts, hydrologic analyses <br />using HEC-l, regional regression equations, and various locally approved methodologies, hydraulic <br />evaluations using HEC-RAS or HEC-2, bridge sizing, report preparation, and permit acquisition <br />identification, assistance, and coordination. <br /> <br />United States Geological Survey, Flood Frequem:y, Nebraska. Graduate research assistant for <br />the United States Geological Survey in the field of statistical hydrology, specifically new flood <br />frequency methods. The work included assisting with the preparation of the Peak Flow Data Report, <br />assisting with the assembly of watershed characteristics, assisting in the calculations of Bulletin 17B <br />quantiles for Nebraska gages, research of modified and new flood frequency methods, and <br />calculations of quantiles using a combination ofL-moments and Region of Influence methodologies. <br />The quantile calculations included statistical analysis using SAS, and modification and development <br />of C++ and FORTRAN programs. <br /> <br />Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources ][)jstrict, Eagle Run Creek, Omaha Nebraska. <br />Conducted an independent physical modeling study of an energy dissipation structure for the Papio.. <br />Missouri River Natural Resources District !IIld Thompson, Dreesen, and Dorner. <br /> <br />Nebraska Department of Roads. Engineering assistant for the Interstate Design Division. Duties <br />included basic highway engineering calculations including drainage delineation, roadway alignment, <br />and earth work volumes.
