THE SECRETARY
WASHINGTON

FebrulU"Y 13, 1952

Judge Clifford H. Stone
Director, Colorado Water Conservation Board
212 State Office Building
Denver 2, Colorado

Dear Judge Stone:

I am very glad to have your letter of January 31, regarding our
tentative report on the Fountain River Watershed.

We believe that connnents on the Department's flood control sur-
vey reports from State agencies are valuable and that local
opinion has much to do with the ultimate success or failure of
the reconunended program. For this reason we are willing to grant
an extension of sixty days in the time allotted for preparing
conunents on the Fountain River Watershed survey report. We would
appreciate, however, receiving your conunents sooner than this if
you find it feasible. If unforeseen circwnstances should arise
which have the effect of reducing the available time, we shall let
you !mow immediately.

You will be interested to learn that General Kramer of the Arkansas
River Compact .Administration has intimated that he also may require
additional time to prepare connnents.

SJ.ncerely,

Rt7~

Assistant Secretar,y

JR.....""
