Note: Ther,:! are :3.
number of these points evenly spaced (in
miles or l,OOO-foot intervals) along the
length of a stream. This feature is
identified with parameter code 436 00-- if a
l,OOO-foot marker, and parameter code
437 00-- if a river mile marker. A decimal
fraction (parameter code 434 00 _ _) may be
included as part of the identification code.
It is shown by FIS symbol P301.

This code identifies a dam or weir. It may
be shown to scale as an outline or symbolized
as a single line. If outlined, only its
outline carries the attribute code. It is
shown by FIS symbol L214.

This code identifies a structure built to
contain the flow of a stream, usually passing
under a road or railroad, or through an
embankment. It is graphically shown as
replacing the streamline and may contain the
flooding. It is shown by FIS symbol L216.
Wingwalls are not digitized.

This code identifies a structure usually
built alongside a river or along the
coastline of a large body of water to prevent
high water from flooding adjacent land. It
is shown by FIS symbol L217.

This code identifies a levee or floodwall on
top of which a road has been built. This
structure is usually built alongside a river
or along the coastline of a large body of
water to prevent high water from flooding
adjacent land. It is shown by FIS symbol
L221.

This code identifies a structure such as a
jetty, breakwater, or pier, built out from a
shoreline. It is shown by FIS spnbol L218.

34
