<br />place, The lump sum price bid for tll'is item shall include all of tile
<br />Co~tractor's costs of whatsoever nature. The price bid will include:
<br />sheeting; shoring and bracing; concrete footings; timbers; steel beams;
<br />reconstructing existing foundation; excavat'ion; backfill; repair of any damage
<br />resultin~J from construction; and all otller related and necessary materials,
<br />work, and equipment required to provide te'llporary and/or permanent protection
<br />fo~ existing structures.

<br />Item No. 105 WATER CONTROL, The Vlol"k covered in this section consists
<br />of controlling normal stream low flows and storm flows during construction.
<br />The Contractor shall submit a plan for water control prior to c~nmencement of
<br />construction, The plan shall include locations, heights, 3nd types of
<br />construction for any flow re-routing schemes, The submittals shall include
<br />Ivhere, when, and for how long pumping or fIG./ diversions are anticipated,
<br />
<br />On-site materials may be used within the 1 imits of construction to construct
<br />temporary berms, Other materials, SUCll as plastic sheeting or sand bags may
<br />be used if desi red by the Contractor,
<br />
<br />For all excavation, the Contractor shall provide suit"ble equiplnent and labor
<br />to remove surface or groundwater, and shall keep the excavated arE,as dewatered
<br />so that pipe, formi ng, riprap, and concrete work can be carri ed out under
<br />dewatered conditions,

<br />Temporary benns are permitted as an aid in controlling ,later. The design,
<br />placement, safety, and maintenance of temporary berms is entirely the respon-
<br />sibilityof the Contractor, All excavation made as part of the deVlatering
<br />operations shall be backfilled with the same type materials as were removed,
<br />and compacted to 95 percent of maximum density (AST~l D,-698 or D-,1557) ,

<br />The Contractor shall conduct his operations 'in such manner that storm flows
<br />may proceed uni nterrupted along the; r street or drainage cou rses. Stonn fl ows
<br />must not be dive:cted to areas outside thl! natural drainage path. By sub-
<br />mitting a bid, the Contractor acknowledges that he has investigated the ris,k
<br />arising from such waters and has prepared his bid accordingly, and assumes all
<br />of said risk, Any damage done during storm flows to temporary or partially
<br />compl eted structul"eS, or resulting from the Contractor's operati ons shall be
<br />rep.,i red by the Contractor at hi s expense,
