:

.

SUMMARY:

.

.

-6-

The following is a summary of our findings in the area east
of Carbondale in which there was a discrepancy between our
mapping and your field check.

We reset the two high flown stereo-models that covered this area
and leveled the models using existing vertical ground control.
We did not use vertical control points 16 and 17 in this
procedure. We then occupied these two positions and found that
point 16 fit, whiile point 17 did not.

We then asked C.V.I. to go back into the field and re-survey
not only points 16 and 17, but to also survey four additional
vertical points along the railroad tracks in the problem area.

C.V.I. came back with the new surveyed points and found
that they had a bad elevation at point 17. The old value was
6177.05'. The new value was 6179.21', a difference of 2.2'.

To correct the final map, we reset the stereo models covering
that area and recompliled the contours. We checked the newly
plotted contours against your field check and it seemed to fit.
