Christopher J. Pauley, P.E.
Water Resources Engineer

Related Experience (Continued)

superfund site. Mr. Pauley provided QNQC on numerous activities, including: soil
cement bank protection and grade control construction, exploratory borehole drilling,
installation of HDPE synthetic liner, construction of a 96-inch diameter stonn drain,
earthwork/special materials movement and placement of articulated block channel
lining.

. Slope/Channel Erosion Protection Blankets: Analysis and Design Computer
Program. Mr. Pauley developed a BASIC language computer program to automate
a manufacture's analysis and design procedures for selecting the appropriate slope
protection product. The progranl incorporated procedures from the Revised
Universal Soil Loss Equation and product performance based specifications for easy
assess by the user. Mr. Pauley rewrote code and developed new algorithms for client
requested alterations.

. Sediment Delivery Analysis For The 10th Street Wash. Mr, Pauley obtained five
sediment samples from the wash near proposed and existing detention basins for
gradation analysis. He estimated the average annual and 100-yeaT sediment yield
volumes to the existing and proposed detention basins. He performed computations
for watershed sediment yield using the Modified Universal Soil Loss Equation, the
Pacific Southwest Inter-Agency Committee method, and Flaxman's equation.

Prior to his work in ATizona, Mr. Pauley lived and worked in Alaska for 20 yeaTs. He is
familiaT with cold climate processes and phenom(:na such as permafrost and aufiesing/ice
jamming. Mr. Pauley performed field investigations to determine surface water
chaTacteristics for a remote gold mine in central Alaska. He was responsible for
implementation of a monitoring and automated data acquisition program for a baseline study
to define water quantity and quality chaTacteristic:s of a site prior to development of a coal
mine. He has utilized finite element models to assist in the investigation and remediation of
thawing permafrost induced settlement at Pump Station 1 on the TransAlaska Pipeline.

T:\MARKET\Bios\cjpbio. wpd

ANdERSON CONsulTiNG ENGiNEERS, INC
