Christopher J. Pauley, P.E.
Water Resources Engineer

Related Experience (Continued)

study were submitted to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for approval
as the new regulatory floodplain.

· Timberline Road Bridge Design. This project was conducted in conjunction with
the extension of Timberline Road from Prospect Road to International Boulevard in
Fort Collins. Mr. Pauley performed 100- and 500-year hydraulic and scour analysis
on several bridge alternatives including thl: final design of a 340-foot span structure.
Hydraulic and scour evaluation of bank protection was also performed to protect the
proposed bridge for the 100-year event. Hydraulic design parameters were also
developed to: size an extra conveyance channel under thl: bridge to provide 100-year
capacity, determine optimum bike trail elevations in the river corridor, and design a
100-year levee confining flows to the river channel.

. Kartchner Caverns State Park Bridge Analysis. Mr. Pauley completed a hydraulic
and scour analysis to determine design parameters for a bridge over a steep gradient
wash with boulder sized bed material. HI: performed a pebble count to develop a
composite gradation and utilized HEC-2 to model both subcritical and supercritical
flow regimes. Hydraulic and scour calculations were utilized to make
recommendations regarding low chord elevation, pier configurations and bank
protection.

· Local Government Bridge Scour Evaluations. Mr. Pauley collected design and
hydrologic data on 600 bridges in Arizona. He assisted in the development of a
manual to enhance the client's ability to screen and analyze locally owned bridges
in a timely and cost efficient manner. Mr. Pauley performed field investigations on
150 structures over canals and natural waterways. He' analyzed 75 structures by
implementing procedures in manual. He utilized WSPRO for all hydraulic analyzes.

. Sky Harbor Airport Bank Protection Reconstruction. Mr. Pauley gathered historic
information on the Salt River project site including; topographic, hydrologic,
sediment transport, and geomorphologic data. He performed a site visit in which
existing conditions (soils, drainage features, existing bank protection and site access)
were documented. He utilized HEC- 2 to determine hydraulic parameters for the 100-
year flood event. Mr. Pauley compiled and produced a detailed historic channel
profile which exhibited a long term degradational trend in the project reach. He
assisted in the scour analysis used to determine bank protection toe-downs. The fmal
report included the preliminary alignment with plan arLd profiles showing top-of-
bank and toe-down elevations. Mr. Pauley reviewed design submittals to insure
compliance with preliminary design recornmendations.

. 19th Avenue Landfill Closure Construction Quality Assurance. Mr. Pauley
performed construction inspection and oversight services during closure of a

T:\MARKET\8IOs' (i~'l'w_ wpd

ANdERSON CoNsulTiNG ENGiNEERS, INC
