Jay D. Schug
Senior Hydrologist

Related Experience (Continued)

program (Computer Aided Decisions for Watershed Enhancement Techniques)
integrated a series of expert system knowledge bases (geomorphic criteria) with a
spreadsheet environment which allows the user to explore various numerical
operations, graphics and other options. The program is currently being used by the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District to assess watershed problems and
rehabilitation measures.

Mine Reclamation Experience

. New Rambler Mine Reclamation. Mr. Schug was responsible for the
characterization of mine wastes associated with the abandoned copper mine. His
responsibilities included evaluation of groundwater and surface water quality, design
of an anoxic limestone dTainage system, reclamation and selective handling planning,
and topsoil investigations to determine appropriate amendment rates to establish
vegetation.

. Day Loma Mine Wetlands Reclamation. Mr. Schug is responsible for the wetlands
mitigation associated with reclamation of the minesite. This task includes
negotiation with regulatory agencies, evaluation of the hydrologic balance, design of
wetlands habitat and habitat features such as subemergent zones.

. Caballo Rojo Coal Mine, Powder River Basin, Wyoming. Mr. Schug participated
in the assessment of mining impacts on ground water resources. The USGS
numerical ground water flow model (MODFLOW) was used to evaluate the
cumulative dTawdown of the coal and overburden aquifers as a result ofmining at the
Caballo Rojo Mine and adjacent mines.

. Carissa Mine Tailings Industrial Waste Closure, South Pass City, Wyoming. Mr.
Schug conducted the inspections and monitoring of the reclaimed site. This project
included the periodic evaluation of the performance and stability of erosion control
structures, channel stabilization structures, ground cover and the mine tailings cap.
It has also involved ground water quality monitoring, measurement of static water
levels and reporting to Wyoming DEQ, Solid Waste Division.

. PT Bukit Asam Coal Mine On-Site Tmining, South Sumatra, Indonesia. Mr.
Schug was actively involved in the reclamation of several square kilometers of mine
spoils. His on-site activities have included assessment of hydrologic conditions,
design of hydraulic structures, erosion control planning and design, construction
supervision, and training in hydrologic/hydraulic /erosion control/construction
principles.

T:\MARKET\Bios\jdsbio. wpd

ANdERSON CONSUhi,r, bqiNEERS, INC
