VIII. QUAliTY CONTROl ANd
SchEdulE CONTROl PROCEduRES

I

Quality Control (QC) is given a top priority at both ACE and Boyle. Our mutual commitment
to quality-assured engineering begins with management and extends to every aspect of the engineering
services on a day-to-day basis. As professional engineers and scientists, we understand that a systematic
approach is the best means of ensuring the quality of our work products and meeting the performance
standards required by our clients. Systematic quality assurance and control is accomplished by
appropriate and timely review of the project goals; contracted scopes of work, budgets and schedules;
technical methods; and all work products.

A Quality Control Committee (QCC) comprised of the Project Manager and senior experienced
professionals will be assigned to the project. In the case of the CWCB project, the QCC will be chaired
by Mr. Greg Koch (ACE). We also propose that one or more representatives from the client actively
join the Quality Control Committee to ensure our early and complete understanding of the project and to
determine that the work product meets the client's requirements and performance standards.

Schedules are maintained through frequent staff meetings and coordination with subconsultants.
At the onset of any project, a list of milestones, and Gantt charts including identification of critical paths,
are prepared and schedules developed. This information is dispersed to all staff participating in the
project, including administrative and production personnel. Formalized performance reviews will be
completed by independent qualified technical reviewers at the 30, 70, 90 and 100 percent completion
levels. These reviews are designed to provide timely assessments of project progress and direction, to
allow for redirection in objectives or approach, and to maintain technical integrity.

Finally, we recognize that communication is vital to the successful completion of any project.
By maintaining open communication channels between our clients, subcontrators, and staff, schedule
demands, budget constraints and quality demands are met.

~II

--

---~.">

r

".".>

....
