Wendell Flanders

Re: Water Meter Project - Town of Yampa

Gentlemen:

We have been asked by Mr. Jack Kirtland of the Office of
Impact Assistance to review the data submitted for Water meter
installations. The bids submitted provided insufficient
information for us to make a decision. We would like to have the
Town of Yampa do the following:

1) Make a request for proposals similar to the one
submitted by Wasinger plumbing. The proposal should
state the quantities of each item to be used. The
proposal should also state if the town is going to
furnish the materials (meters & accessories), or if the
material is to be furnished by the contractor. The
proposal should also state the date that the town would
like the work to be completed.

2) The request ,for proposals should be advertised in the
local papers at least 3 times (Steamboat Springs &
Yampa). If this procedure is followed, and you have
only one bidder, and the bid is under the estimate. we
would in all probability okay the contract.

712
wen/fla

Herbert H.
